St. Patrick's Day

I haven't been the type of Mommy that has holidays planned out and coordinated so that they are super-fun for my kids. But, I decided that I would like to give it a shot :)

So - today, we had the typical green food treatment - green scrambled eggs, toast with green butter and then I made green limeade for Myla and Gavan to enjoy for breakfast. They ate it right up! I thought it looked pretty icky myself. Should have taken a picture.

Myla had a nice green shamrock shirt to wear today, courtesy of our kind neighbor Lynn and her daughter Shaylee. Gavan was pretty determined to wear his "Robodog" shirt so we stuck a few shamrock stickers on him and called it good. And, this picture is the most-still I could get him to stand...
The bulk of our day was pretty standard: running errands, doing housework and baking, except we were treated to Uncle Jordan's company in the morning, which was very nice.

Then, we headed over to my parents' house for a somewhat-Irish dinner. There was cabbage and Irish soda bread (which was really yummy!) but the Irish-ness stops there. It was a fun change of pace to have a mid-week dinner at Grandma's house. We wrapped it up with a walk around the block and Myla and Gavan both fell asleep in the truck on the drive home. They are still asleep and I am banking on them staying down for the night! There is nothing worse than a two hour nap that starts at 6:30pm!

We hope you all had a fun day wearing green, eating different things and celebrating the Saint that chased the snakes out of Ireland (symbolically speaking of course).

What fun!!! I'm glad you had the energy to do all of that, especially being prego and all! ;) You're a great mom!! We should totally get together, especially before we move even further away.

Gavin's curls are sooo cute!!! Glad you had a fun "green" day. I didn't realize it was St. Patricks day until late in the afternoon. Cute pictures of the kiddos!

Glad you guys celebrated one of our favorite holidays. We had to skip the Irish meal this year because of our trip, but we missed the corned beef and cabbage!
