SOLID

Well, Nell-bells is now 4 months old! Time flies! And - you know what the 4 month mark means: "solid" food!
As solid as rice cereal and pureed vegetables can be...

Nellie really liked it. As we were feeding her, it reminded me of when Gavan started solids - we couldn't get it into his mouth fast enough. Nellie likes it the same way :)

Next week we'll introduce some other stuff - I have pears, peas (Myla's FAVE as a babe) and sweet potato.

YUM!
I'm happy that Nellie is eating good - I've been nursing her exclusively up to this point and having something else to offer her gives me a little bit of a break. And I tell ya, she seems happier too! Maybe she wasn't getting enough from me...
At her 4 month check up, she weighed 13 pounds. Looking at the growth chart, her doctor turned to me and said, "She went from the 70th percentile for weight to the 30th! Did your other kids do that?" I don't remember. She's fine otherwise so the doc said we'll see what she's doing at 6 months and then decide if she needs supplementation but I think solids are going to help out.
In fact, its almost time for some dinner over here!

wow! 4 months already! time really goes by too quick! espeacially for little babies!! have fun trying new foods. i think its so fun to see their faces and see how they react to new tastes. connor was the same way with weight though, he dropped drastically at about 6 months but my doc said some kids are just smaller?

I'm reading going what? My doctor says absolutly no food til 6 months and then just rice or oatmeal til 7 months and only one new food a week after that. Dean would love food I know it but we are still a month away from cereal. at his 5 month check up he was 15lbs 13oz and 27.5 inches. they sadi 50th% for weight and 95th% for height. I've never has sutch a tall baby he has to wear 9-12mon pj's (or he streched them out so bad he ripped 2 pairs feet out. Every kid is so diff I don't think you have anything to worry about at all
